Literary Convention

BLOSSOMS 2011
Literary Convention

Yet another event for the intellectuals of CUIM took place on 10th November 2011, comprising of various brain teaser  events like Short story/Essay/Poetry Writing, Pot Pourri, Quiz, Extempore, Debate, Dumb Charade and Jam. These events brought out the scholars of CUIM and students came forward in great numbers and took part in all the events. Both the Main Campus and Kengeri Campus became a hub of ingenuity and creativity.

The topic for short story was a very interesting one i.e. “I was woken up by the sound of shattering glass.......”

The topic for Essay writing was really a challenging one i.e. “Damage to the environment is an inevitable consequence of worldwide improvement in the standard of living” and made the students think out of the box.
The topic for poetry was “Solitude” and this competition brought out the poets of CUIM.
Participants were judged on the basis of Narrative flow, Language and Clarity of thought in these events.
The extempore also consisted of some really thought provoking topics like Anna Hazare, India united and India divided, Indian politics as a career, Journey is more important than destination, Value of the Indian Rupee, Business Success and management education, and so on. These topics could ignite the inner thoughts of the students.

The topic for debate was “Borderless World-a dream of reality” and this topic could ignite the ingenious minds of the students of CUIM.

Other mind games like Pot Pourri, Jam, Quiz and Dumb Charades were also conducted which were filled with fun, excitement and intellect. Quiz and Dumb charades covered a long range of topics starting from politics to movies.

Ultimately, the entire literary event was a great accomplishment. Along with competing with each other every one got to learn new things and everyone enjoyed immensely.

Special Thanks to our Director Father Thomas T.V., Faculty Co-ordinators Prof. Anirban Ghatak and Prof. Vedha Balaji, whose presence and co-ordination could make the event a big success.
Kudos to the Student Co-coordinators, Event Managers and the Volunteers who ensured great success of all the events.
The events would not have been complete without the sincere help from the University staff who worked hard diligently, helping us to end the events on a high note.
